The six grades

Use the lowest grade that is true. A buyer who gets more than they expected comes back; one who gets less returns the item.

NewNever used, complete, in the original packaging. Opened but unused goes under Like new.
Like newUsed, but you can't tell by looking. Everything works and nothing is missing.
ExcellentSmall marks you see when you look for them: light scuffs, faint wear on edges. Works fully.
GoodWear anyone notices: scratches, worn grips or paint, but nothing that affects use.
FairHeavy wear, or a minor fault that doesn't stop it working. Say exactly what in the notes.
For partsDoesn't work as it should, or can't be tested. Sold as is, for repair or parts.

Describing condition so buyers trust it

Is there a standard condition scale for used goods?

Not one that every marketplace shares, but most use the same steps: new, like new, very good or excellent, good, fair, and for parts. These six cover nearly every used item and translate cleanly between languages.

Should I use letters or numbers instead of words?

Words are clearest to a buyer who doesn't know your shop. If your customers are used to letters (A, B, C) or points out of ten, show them next to the word rather than instead of it.

Can my web shop show the grade on every product?

Yes. Usedkit adds the grade to each product on WooCommerce and Shopify, as a card on the product page and a badge in product lists, with a filter by condition.

Show the grade on your shop

Usedkit puts this scale on every product of your WooCommerce or Shopify shop, with its details and what's included, and tells customers when the next one of a sold model comes in.
